Pastor Boykin Travels to Haiti

Pastor Boykin  prepares for baptismal ceremonies

Last week, Pastor Boykin and Pastor Kulczycky travelled to Verrettes, Haiti for a 4-day conference at L’Eglise Croisade Evangelique (Evangelical Crusade Church). Pastor Boykin was invited to the annual conference by Pastors Ambroise and Philomene Menard, who were celebrating 40 years of ministry at the church.

The Menards had also asked Pastor Boykin to come and assume oversight over their ministry, consisting of over 40 churches. The conference featured activities throughout the day and included services for children, youth, and ladies. On Saturday, over 400 children were fed after their morning program.

Pr. Kulczycky and fellow Pastor

Pr. Boykin was the main speaker at the nightly and Sunday morning services, which were filled to maximum capacity. Pr. Marc K. also had the opportunity to share on several occasions.

During the trip, Pastor Boykin met with the pastors affiliated with the Menards’ ministry, encouraging them and sharing the vision of CMI. While in Verrettes, Pastor Marc K. also had the opportunity to visit a local school with 134 students which CMI may support as a CALEB Center.

Perhaps the highlight of the trip was the baptismal ceremony during the conference. The ceremony began with a colorful and dynamic processional leading to the city center.

Church of All Nations benevolence in action

Approximately 1000 people gathered to watch the baptisms performed by Pastor Boykin, Pastor Menard and other local ministers. As the concluding act of the conference, Pr. Boykin presented the Menards with a beautiful plaque recognizing and honoring their many years of sacrificial ministry in Haiti.

Pr. Boykin and the Menards thank the believers at Church of All Nations for their support. Due to the faithful giving of God’s people, Church of All Nations was able to fund the conference which touched and fed countless people.

Countries in Focus for August 2008
PLEASE PRAY FOR Latvia

Population 2,245,423

Language The official language is Latvian, however Russian and Lithuanian languages are also spoken

Government Latvia is a Parliamentary Democracy
Chief Of State: President Valdis Zatlers
Prime Minister: Ivars Godmanis

Economy Latvia’s economy experienced growth of more than 10% per year during 2006-07. The majority of companies, banks, and real estate have been privatized, although the state still holds sizable stakes in a few large enterprises. Latvia officially joined the World Trade organization in February
1999. EU membership, a top foreign policy goal, came in May 2004. The current account deficit — more than 22% of GDP in 2007—and inflation—at nearly 10% per year– remain major concerns.

Religion Lutheran 19.6% Orthodox 15.3% Other Christian 1%
Other 0.4% Unspecified 63.7%

1. Latvia has become a transshipment and destination point for cocaine, synthetic drugs, opiates, and cannabis from Southwest Asia, Western Europe, Latin America, and neighboring Balkan countries; despite improved legislation, Latvia is vulnerable to money laundering due to nascent enforcement capabilities and comparatively weak regulation of offshore companies and the gaming industry; CIS organized crime (including counterfeiting, corruption, extortion, stolen cars, and prostitution) accounts for most laundered proceeds.

Please pray for those who are committing the crimes to have a heart change, what is meant for evil will be turned around for good, and what is done in darkness shall be brought to light.

2. Pray that all false religions would be abolished, and all would turn their hearts to the One True God. Pray for true revival to break out in the hearts of the people.

3. Pray for the leaders of the country and that their decisions would line up with the Word of God.

4. Please pray that the institution of marriage, the way God designed it, would be reinstituted in the hearts of the people. Pray against the strongholds of perverse sexual sin.

PLEASE PRAY FOR Lithuania

Population 3,565,205

Language The official language is Lithuanian; Russian and Polish dialect are also spoken.

Government Lithuania is a Parliamentary Democracy
Chief Of State: President Valdas Adamkus
Head of Government: Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas

Economy Lithuania, the Baltic state that has conducted the most trade with Russia, has grown rapidly since
rebounding from the 1998 Russian financial crisis. Unemployment fell to 3.2% in 2007 while wages continued to grow at double digit rates, contributing to rising inflation. Exports and imports also grew strongly, and the current account deficit rose to nearly 15% of GDP in 2007.

Trade has been increasingly oriented toward the West. Lithuania has gained membership in the World Trade Organization and joined the EU. Privatization of the large, state-owned utilities is nearly complete. Foreign government and business support have helped in the transition from the old command economy to a market economy. Lithuania is feeling the effects of a downward spiral in the economy.

Religion Roman Catholic 79% Russian Orthodox 4.1% Protestant 1.9% None 9.5% Unspecified 5.5%

1. Lithuania has become a transshipment and destination point for cocaine, synthetic drugs, opiates, and cannabis from Southwest Asia, Western Europe, Latin America, and neighboring Baltic countries; growing production of high-quality amphetamines, but limited production of cannabis, methamphetamines; susceptible to money laundering despite changes to banking legislation. Please pray for those who are committing the crimes to have a heart change, what is meant for evil will be turned around for good, and what is done in darkness shall be brought to light.
2. Please pray for the revelation of God’s Word for the people to be realized, accepted and put into action in their lives.
3. Pray for the leaders of the country and that their decisions would line up with the Word of God.
