BEGINS WEDNESDAY JUNE 11

The Fire Institute Graduation

The Fire Institute held their 2008 commencement ceremony during the 11 AM service on Sunday, June 29, 2008.

Director Pastor Kevin Slack

Director, Pastor Kevin Slack, introduced the graduates to the congregation and presented them with their diplomas.

Grant Lewis was awarded highest honors of all the graduates. In all, six individuals received their degrees following the completion of their studies at the Fire Institute. It was a great honor to see these individuals complete these difficult courses of study and obtain their degrees.

The Fire Institute has graduated many talented individuals into ministry, and is a testament to the hard work of all who labor for this institute.

Pastor Boykin had the congregation stretch forth their hands and pray collectively for the graduates. In addition, Pastor Boykin allowed Grant the freedom to share his personal testimony and some memories from his biblical training while at the Fire Institute.

Congratulations to all the graduates on this most special accomplishment. It is truly a blessing to see these men and women on fire for the Lord!

Annual Event Draws 200

Between 150 and 200 hearty souls endured the intense June heat for a day of Christian fellowship, food and sports at beautiful Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton.

With temperatures climbing into the mid 90's and the humidity hovering at near 90%, the heat index reached an incredible 100 degrees for most of the afternoon.

However, the people of Church of All Nations who attended with their families had a great time, overcame the heat and humidity, and enjoyed a day filled with tennis, soccer, badminton, kickball, basketball and numerous board games played under the shady pavilions. A good time was had by all, despite the heat and humidity, as the crowd enjoyed games, food and cold drinks.

Senior Associate Pastor Andres Montesino began the picnic with a short devotion. This was followed by instructions for the various activities by Pastor Chris Cowen. After activities were explained, folks dispersed to the activity of their choice, which they embraced with enthusiasm.

In spite of the searing temperatures, tennis was a big draw. Throughout the day, tennis drew an average crowd of between 20 and 25 people per event. The tennis enthusiasts enjoyed the instruction and competition throughout the morning and afternoon sessions.

Elsewhere, the grassy pit provided the ideal backdrop for field games such as soccer, kickball, football and volleyball. Children seemed to enjoy just running up and down the embankment, as their parents had the ideal vantage point to oversee their little ones.

Over 200 meals were served buffet style, together with icy cold drinks. A spirit of unity permeated the crowds gathered in the pavilions as worship music boomed in the background.

The day seemed to move much too quickly, as brothers and sisters in Christ fellowshipped in the relaxed, casual, laid back environment of Patch Reef Park. Reluctantly, picnic goers began to exit the event, having experienced the warm and inviting interaction with their fellow believers in Christ.

A special thank you to Pastor Pedro Pereira. His attention to detail and precise planning contributed to the event.

The general feeling of all who attended the picnic was that they had just experienced a large family reunion, which left them eagerly awaiting the next planned event at Church of All Nations.

Breaking Free, Part II
Pastor Mark D. Boykin
Sunday June 29, 2008 Acts 12

Rev. Mark D. Boykin

Last week, Pastor Boykin started a message entitled "Breaking Free", based on Acts 12. He continued with that message on Sunday June 29, 2008.

Church of All Nations is currently in a 40 day period of prayer and fasting, which ends on Sunday, July 20, 2008.

On July 27, 2008, Pastor Boykin predicts the church will have a "Miracle Sunday" of healing. God will do the supernatural, faith will be present, and we must move when the Holy Spirit moves.

You can never predict what the Holy Spirit will do. There may be healing that day. There will be a profound sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Some will be healed as they walk in the door. Many church members are praying and fasting in anticipation of this exciting time.

When people pray, God will move. Pastor Boykin's message was centered on Acts 12. This is the story of Peter's miraculous escape from prison. After Peter was arrested, the church "prayed without ceasing"..."And behold" the chains fell off. God is going to break the chains in our lives as well. Whatever is holding you back, the chains are coming off.

The Spirit of God will transform you and give you new life, for prayer changes both the situation and the petitioner. He will move the petitioner more into the center of God's will. At Pentecost a new paradigm was produced. God released His blessing upon the people in the upper room. We too will be justified, sanctified and then glorified.

At Pentecost, God released His Spirit. lo As set forth in Acts 2, when the Spirit of God fell, tongues of fire set upon them. After the initial outpouring, there were no more tongues of fire, but people still spoke in tongues and prophesied. We still see tongues today when the Spirit comes upon us.

Several things happened at Pentecost:

I. At Pentecost, there was unity. The people there came together in love and put aside their differences. As they were united in love, the Spirit began to flow. We cannot have a divided heart. Every time you see the Holy Spirit, there are wonderful works of God which are uplifting and edify the name of Jesus Christ. Personalities and differences fall by the wayside. Our hearts are full of love for Jesus Christ and we sing His wonderful works.

Jesus must be at the center of our lives. There is no place in the church for personalities. With the Holy Spirit, we must follow Jesus Christ, and keep our eyes upon Him.

II. At Pentecost, there was a release of new potential. Blind eyes were opened, the deaf could hear, and all manner of ailments were healed. Jesus said that we would do greater works than these in His name. In Mark 16:17, Jesus did not say to follow signs, but said that signs would follow those that believe.

God has given us supernatural power, and we will receive more power as the last days approach. At Pentecost, people were amazed at the power of God. There were tongues of fire and speaking in tongues.

We gauge our lives by the Word of God. God promised that there would be a greater outpouring in the last days and that greater things would happen. We must place our children in the hands of God and let God watch over them. We need to place a shield of fire around them with the power of God that we have been given.

As set forth in Acts 3, there is power in agreement. We need to continue to pray corporately. There is no such thing as a lone Christian. We need to pray together and set aside our differences. Some of us are guilty of spiritual pride, and think we can go it alone.
